A REAL wall displaying REAL posts by REAL people
I got fed up of posts on my facebook wall, so I thought I'd close my facebook account and get back to my blogging roots so I set this site up to receive REAL post. From REAL people. Any post sent to me will be put up here and photographed every day until new mail comes in. Don't forget to click on each photo to go through to it's flickr page where you will find full annotations.

my REAL wall - 31 March 2009 Day version
Alternative toilet reading in a my REAL wall stylee
my REAL wall - March 30, 2009
Apologies for not updating for a few days. If you understand Romanian I am sure you can forgive me this time...
my REAL wall - March 26, 2009
New post in from my mate Amber, containing loads of bits and pieces from her recent trip to India all "bought from a kid outside the tomb of Tipu Sultan", which sounds pretty cool to me. The package arrived today sent from Brighton yesterday and contains bookmarks, a keyring and some blank postcards.
In my opinion my REAL wall is not a place but a state of mind, and the whole philosophy of it is to interact with REAL people in REAL space again so, as a load of friends were round the package from Amber became a huge talking point and culminated in a social photoshoot for tonight.

Engrossed in the mail-art
my REAL wall - March 26, 2009
Samurai slash gash grows larger and bleeds some mail art all over my underwear, and in response to the mail from botheyesclosed, clouds start gathering for the first of 40 days...

my REAL wall - March 23, 2009
Postcard from my cousin, as held by me
my REAL wall - March 20, 2009
This shot has a profile pic in it of me illuminated in the bath and the lettering is done in light. I like the eerie effect of this particular take, although I done 3 shots tonight, so take a look at flickr to see the other results for yourself and decide which is best.
The shot was done in a completely darkened bathroom by selectively illuminating parts of the scene featuring REAL post using an LED pocket torch and a standard AA maglite, shone through a carboard tube to minimise halo.
The writing was done in the air using the LED torch
This was the second of the 3 takes done tonight and the whole shoot took about 2 hours, finished at 4:30am.
myREALwall - March 18, 2009
My cousin from Germany sent me a postcard and his wife, which was rather nice of him
myREALwall - March 17, 2009
No significant new post today so I thought I'd take the night off and run myself a nice warm bath
myREALwall March 16, 2009 second post
New posts from Stewgeez and Alex and grthink, and lots of old posts now consigned to the archives.
myREALwall - March 16, 2009
Some Romania paraphernalia, boarding passes and passport. Bit of a rush job as I wanted to get to sleep before 2am for a change

my REAL wall March 15, 2009, originally uploaded by andytgeezer.
A really quick and easy status update today, in my room in Romania. I am staying with my Romanian family here and just wanted to keep it simple. Catalina is in my friends list as a REAL friend and one of the ideas of the REAL wall is to use it to show that REAL social networking is supposed to bring you closer to your friends.
So here we are, together in Romania and updating my status. The Cat in the mirror represents Catalina and my profile pic is me in the mirror.
No letters today as I'm in another country.
Simple.

My first 4 frame Lomo Action sampler set, a new postcard from Pony and a man emerges from the calendar application
myREALwall - March 11, 2009
New REAL photograph taken of me by my flatmate QQ, and I decide that it's time to open the Calendar application sent to me by Neil
myREALwall - March 10, 2009
Minimal styling with colour strips, profile pic and the aeroplanes I was sent by Neil as focal point. Letters to the side from Neil and Jen, with peg from High Heel Girl, showing archives at the bottom and a desperate need to put the laundry on again...
my REAL wall gallery - Yaa Asantewaa past artists: Kelo Roger and Glen John
These are part of a huge collection of photos I've been given to scan that belong to one longstanding of Yaa Asantewaa Carnival arts group. These photos date back to at least the 1990s and in this gallery they show when Yaa was used as a gallery for up and coming and established artists.
I've never met Kelo Roger or Glen Ford John.
Click on the photo to see further details of each photo, as noted on the back of each by hand

Time to delete an application methinks...
my REAL wall - Professional edition - March 04, 2009
At work I was asked to present a poster showing "My Learning Journey" that resulted in me ending up in the job I was in. We could present this in any way we wanted, so I drew a poster.
As my job is in e-learning, much of my work overlaps with my spare-time wasting hobbies. I mean at work I have to use blogs and forums, and at home I use blogs and forums. At work I do various projects with flickr, and at home I take lots of photos and put them on flickr.
So, it was really only a matter of time before my REAL wall had to come into work, and here it is.
The professional edition has document filing capabilities but none of those silly applications you mess about with in the home edition.
This image, complete with annotations etc, is also linked as part of my professional portfolio.
my REAL wall - March 03, 2009: Invasion of the fish part 2
The Fishing application is taking over my wall and completely swamping the wall posts. It seems that by accepting that fish from Neil has had ultimately detrimental effects.
