I got fed up of posts on my facebook wall, so I thought I'd close my facebook account and get back to my blogging roots so I set this site up to receive REAL post. From REAL people. Any post sent to me will be put up here and photographed every day until new mail comes in. Don't forget to click on each photo to go through to it's flickr page where you will find full annotations.
New post from Panda Jenn and self-plugging and new glasses trial functionality added. Click the image to go through to the fully annotated version complete with full text and artefact close-ups
New functionality includes friends list and groups, events calendar, TV guide and Tube map simulator as well as language options. At the moment we're still working on the languages but it's a group effort and we'll get there.
Unfortunately targeted advertising is now in force to make you feel totally inadequate as soon as you log in, but hey we have to pay for this somehow, and the revenue from owning all the stuff here isn't yet enough to do so.

One day, I woke up and realised I was a little fed up of facebook. I was annoyed at the fact what I was receiving on my wall was not particularly fulfilling, and the posts on my wall and the electronic gifts I was receving, just left me a bit cold.
Then I realised that I was lacking something really vital. Since the start of mass electronic communication, electronic posting has become impersonal and disposable in a way that written media and personal contact never was. I miss tearing open letters, removing the contents smelling the paper, checking for money, keeping the stamp (yes I do) and just reading the contents. I will read letters over and over again and memorise them because I'm kinaesthetic. I like to touch things and smell things. Letters just make sense to me.
So I decided to close my facebook account and keep in contact with people on here instead. Instead of receiving posts on an electronic wall, I now encourage you to send me a REAL post in the mail. When I receive your post I will stick it on my REAL wall and take a picture of it and post it here for the world to see.
Simple really.
Initially, as this is in beta, only my facebook friends have my address, but if you want to send me stuff, just mail me on andy@myrealwall.com and I'll send you my address or meet you in REAL life!
