my REAL wall - 05 October 2009 - Favourites

I'm really pleased to welcome new viewers who have come in from the postcrossing blog today and for your eyes, I've dug up some of my favourite postcards that I've received since opening my REAL wall in February.

There are far too many cool ones to stick up but if yours hasn't made it on there, never fear, I put this together in a rush this morning, and probably just missed yours out.

Awh! Thank you for dropping by :) I've been an avid follower of your blog for some time! It's a wonderful concept. I think it is definitely time that I sent you something. I also have a wall of postcards, though it is far less impressive. Congratulations on being featured on the PC blog! That's awesome :D

Aw, I don't dislike Postcrossing, I didn't mean to begrudge it so, haha. I have spent a lot of of time (and funds) doing it and I get a lot out of it. I guess sometimes I feel like Postcrossers HAVE to write to me, but my friends don't. I love receiving personalised mail from friends, family and penpals, but I get much less of it than Postcrossing mail. Sometimes writing these one-minute postcards to strangers, who might reply only with a 'thank you' feels bizarre. I think I may be just digging my hole deeper, so I'll stop now, ha. Postcrossing is an amazing place and I have met quite a few interesting people via Postcrossing that I have kept in touch with. Of course, I get much more out of Postcrossing than just mail.
Anyhow, I'd love to receive a letter from you!
Take care :)

Thanks for clearing that up Bianca - I do know what you mean with regards to Postcrossing. I love it personally, but have scaled back a lot since I started and focus a lot more on swap-bot and mailart these days for exactly the reasons that you outline. I do find it a little strange when I see people just on there to rack up numbers! However, as you rightly point out, it's perfectly possible to make good mail-friends on there, and I have made many, so these days I try and build on those relationships, rather than make more.

Can't wait to receive your postcard and if you drop me an email with your address I'd be happy to send you one back for your REAL wall, which of course you can photograph and send for inclusion on this very site!
